I just jailbroke my iphone 4 using pangu. I was running on version 7.1.2. Everytime i try to apply a new tweak using cydia, i have to restart my iphone. For example, when i am using DockShift to change the background color of my dock, i have to restart the whole phone to view what it looks like. The changes dont apply until i restart which is really annoying, especially since when i see others using the app on youtube, they dont need to restart. It just changes for them. I dont know if there is something wrong or if this is normal. This was my first jailbreak, i have tried to reinstall cydia substrate too, yet nothing seems to work. I would really like some help. Thanks

It's a normal thing to respring your springboard after installing a tweak or making a change in the settings of a tweak.

Restarting essentially involves a respring. Some tweaks do actually require a restart, but most will take just a respring.

If you meant respring instead of a restart (where you shut your phone off and then turn it back on again) then this is normal.

This is not something you can change or alter. It's just the way it works. Most tweaks alter system settings and for changes to be made the springboard has to respring.
