Every update since iOS 11, spotlight search has been funky.

What the hell are they doing?

When I first updated iOS I got a bunch of irrelevant Siri search results, so I had to go to settings to turn off apps from appearing in search.

I could still search for any app to gain access to it quicker without looking through the grid.

With the latest update (and I knew this was coming) I cannot use the search bar for anything! I can't even type in the name of an app, it won't come up.

What is wrong with Apple and search? If this was Google I wouldn't have anything to say right now.

Their search functionality, they don't know what they're doing. They just don't. It just doesn't work. What is Apple doing?

I don't get it. Why do they keep changing search? It's definitely not just me, THEY'RE CHANGING STUFF

I agree 100%, I used to use the search feature as a way to quickly access apps that were nested deep within the folders of the phone...then they switched it up and I had to type the exact name of the app in order to get it to show up, now I can type it exactly as it appears and nothing shows up in the search results. Bravo, Apple.

Deep within folders? Can you put folders within folders now?

Yes, multi-page folders. I could have specified that better.

If I go to Settings>Siri & Search> and add each app one at a time will that make it that when I search for that app it will actually show me items from inside that app? All I want is the name of the app to show up in that search list, not information from within the app.

All I know is that if you want to find the app the switch has to be ON. Search isn’t configurable enough but having the apps on top is what I wanted anyway.

I believe it should, but you have to settings and make sure that it is set to search in those particular apps.

sometimes mine doesn't even pop-up for me to search for something.
