Hey.

This question is meant for all kind MacBook users, but I had to post it somewhere.
I'm currently using my MBP (2018) with the Studio Display and I'm concerned about the battery as it keeps showing the lightening bolt and is always at 100%. I'd assume it would drop to 80% and stay around there, but it's always 100%. Just to let you know I'm always connected to a monitor, like, always.... I'm basically using it like a mini and only use it in laptop mode in rare circumstances.

Can you guys tell me and show me what's your setup? And if you use third part apps, what kind? I'm also unsure about the "low power mode" setting, mine is set as "always" but I don't know what's the best option.

I use Al-Dente to keep my MacBook at around 70% while connected to my Studio Display. I have been using this Mac on my last 3 MacBooks and it has had a significant impact on keeping my MacBook batteries from draining health wise over the years.

If you prefer not to use a 3rd party app - assuming you have the defaults set, Apple should learn your charging behavior and lower the charge % eventually with Optimized Battery Charging.
