My dream iPhone lineup for 2018: I of course know this will never happen. :)

1. 3 Flagship iPhones, identical apart from the size.

2. 3 Budget iPhones, identical apart from the size.

3. 3 sizes for both the above lines. All 6 iPhones bezeless, with notch and Face ID. Same design. 3 Sizes - 4.5”. 5.25”. 6”. Same weight, shape and size.

Flagship iPhones

OLED
4 GB RAM
A12
Dual sim
Dual camera
3D Touch
Difference colours than the budget ones.
Slightly better battery life.

Budget iPhones

LCD
3GB RAM
A11
Single sim
Single camera
May not have 3D Touch
Different colours than the flagship iPhones.
Slightly worse battery life.

Apart from this all 6 iPhones should be made identical.

Pricing:

Flagship

4.5” - USD 750
5.25” - USD 850
6” - USD 950

Base version - 128 GB

Upgrade to 256 GB - USD 100

Upgrade from 256 GB to 512 GB - USD 150

AppleCare+ - USD 150

Budget

4.5” - USD 500
5.25” - USD 600
6” - USD 700

Base version - 64 GB

Upgrade to 128 GB - USD 100

AppleCare+ - USD 100

And with such a lineup, they don’t need to keep the previous years’ iPhones in their lineup either.

I said 4 cameras, looks like they are already adding a 3rd, smart of Apple to take my advice ;)

You don’t need 4GB of ram tbh

Dream iPhone lineup?
I wish Apple can make multiple lineups (using the same Ax architecture). I mean let’s say this year Apple releases the A12. We already have A12X for the highest end (iPad Pro) and A12 for flagship iPhone. It would’ve been great if Apple can use the same A12 architecture for the lower lineup as well instead of using last gen’s architecture. Eg. A12SE or whatever. So people buying an iPhone anytime can get the same expectation of support as the flagship model, instead of getting something that is already three generation behind (eg. Buying a 6S/SE today)

So dream iPhone lineup:
- Flagship iPhone, A12 proper, 64GB, $699. Add $100 for plus version or 256GB version
- Upper mid range iPhone, A12 light, 64GB, $549. Add $100 for plus version or 256GB.
- Lower mid range iPhone, A12 value, 32GB, $449. Add $100 for plus version, add $50 for 128GB.
- lowest range/SE, A11, 32GB, $349. Add $50 for 128GB.

Upgrade the chip to Ax+1 every year

Just like MacBooks. When intel release a new chip and Apple refreshes the Mac, Apple refreshes from lowest to highest, so if I buy an iMac, regardless of the price point, it will get the same generation of intel chip, not the ones from previous gens. I wish the same for iPhone as well.

All I want is an updated SE with the same design, but a better screen (same size just the newer tech), A11 processor, 3GB of ram and iPhone 8 camera.

I've heard that one before. I always want as much ram as I can get because it extends the longevity of the phone. People were banging on about not needing 2GB in 2015 (prior to the 6S) yet the iPhone 6 has aged terribly in terms of performance.

I want an iPhone SE that looks like the iPhone X, dual cameras, minimal bezels, and is as tall as the current SE but as wide as the iPhone X. 16:9 videos would still fit but the keyboard would be wider. The main issue I have with the iPhone SE is how small the keyboard feels—even though I've owned nearly every iPhone model since the original—it's just too cramped when I use it now. That and it has a second-class camera. And my main complaint with the iPhone X is that the display is way too freaking tall which makes it difficult to reach all the controls at the top. It's better than the Plus because I can grip it better (not as wide) but it's still not ideal. I'd be willing to pay the same amount as the X for such a device.

Just give us an updated SE! That’s all I ask!

*i can’t stand the people who think think the SE is budget. At the time of its release it wasn’t much cheaper*
I didn’t buy the phone because it was less money, I bought it for screen size.

Hopefully they will release an OLED model with an aluminum body. I really don't like the look of Stainless Steel. I prefer something more understated and shiny is just not my style. I use Force Touch daily so I would like for that to be included as well. A smaller notch would be nice, although no notch would be ideal.

The Space Gray SE is the most refined and beautiful iPhone to date. It makes the X look like a Fisher-Price toy in comparison. If I didn't own a 6s at the time then I would have bought the SE in heartbeat. It's the perfect size and it's specs were impressive. More money doesn't necessarily mean a better product. Just look at the X and the 8, It's a metal and glue sandwich. I pay attention to those details, and that just dosen't sit right with me. The SE has an impressive design both inwards and outwards. If Version 2 looks like all the leaks we've seen then count me in!

That’s not true. The starting price point of the SE was $250 less than the iPhone 6S (Which started at $650.00 for $16 GB), and the SE Was $400 in full retail for the 16GB.

*i can’t stand the people who think think the SE is budget.

The SE was introduced for two reasons:

1.) It was verbatim stated by Greg Joswiak (VP of marketing) during the March 2016 Keynote that SE was to be an ‘affordable’ entry level iPhone.

2.) Apple did state they received a lot of feedback that consumers still wanted a 4 inch display iPhone, which is still a minority, but they granted that request not just for the sake of offering a 4 inch form factor, but the _cheaper price_ Also offered it to be more affordable in countries like Asia and India, where smart phones are extremely expensive in those markets.
