That's absolutely normal as the iPad's battery is high capacity. It's going to take awhile, especially when you're using a USB port and not the power brick.

I ran my iPad battery down to 0 last night, plugged it in to the provided wall charge, battery charged to 78% in 2h20m. I suspect the iPad would be fully charge in about 4 hours.
On the bright side, though, once the iPad starts getting broken in and you're not spending every waking second with it , you probably won't have to charge it every day and will get by with only charging it a couple of nights a week.
