I really liked iOS 12, it ran really well even on old hardware and was pretty stable!
6 before 7 borked it.
13 as it was the most stable at the end (after ver 7)

iOS 6, because it was the last os with skeuomorphism and iOS 13 only because it introduced dark mode.
iOS 6 was my personal fave. i liked the icons and the look and feel. and 13 cuz dark mode
I would say ios6 was the last classic look of what was once part of Steve jobs work. From what I remember at least ios7 was meh after that.. iOS14 was decent. Though I feel iOS15 will be the one im going to like the most at this present moment of time. 
All I'll say is that it gets worse every year. They can't leave well enough alone and keep on piling more and more crap on to it.
Best iOS Version: The one thats optimized for the phone you use it on.

Rose-coloured glasses perhaps, but I liked 5. It was before everything became complex, and it seemed to do the job well. I seem to recall 6 being comparatively buggy (not to mention the whole Maps debacle).
this is all ridiculous; we're not just comparing the OSes, but need to consider the devices we ran those OSes on.
all i know is, i can do a lot more with my iphone now than i could ever before, and would not give up the things i use now (or even the options i don't) to go back to 6, or 12, or... any time in the past. viva le present!

This. I loved iOS 10 because that's what my iPhone 7 came with and it was a beast
iOS 6. Though I’ll say there was something great about iOS 12, felt like Tim got off his ass and had Craig check out these things called “frame rates”.
