Whats your iPad Wireless N speed ?

What connection speed are you seeing with your iPad using wireless N?

With a DIR655 mine is topping out a low 58mb/s with a 100% signal.
Other N devices get 150-300 on the router.

If you can post your router type and connection speed...

Got 68 on a Trendnet TEW633 N router Others can all pull at around 120-150

Not sure where that screen is. I have the DIR 655 and I can get to the router config page by entering the IP address in my address bar and logging in. Now there are over 50 different links... where did you go to find out which device is connected and what their speed is?

Hmmm, would that be the "rate" on my Time Capsule?

My MBP in the same room as the TC gets 130, my iPad that is in the same room is at 72, my daughters who is about the same distance from the TC if you could go thru walls is at a 7. She is cutting diagonal almost thru an outside wall with metal studs in it - there is a water heater in the middle too.

OUr house is horrid for bouncing wifi around though with all the random metal in the walls.... 3/4 of the time i get on 3G in my kitchen because the wifi ain't making it out of this room (the former garage).

Moving the TC access point means wiring the house - since the lovely people before us cut all the wires in the attic - and well, it just isn't worth it at this point! LOL!!

ETA: HA, she jumps to 72 when i get off of the wifi.... which means she isn't studying like she is supposed to be either. Busted. Oh at the Touch is showing at 54. Signal strength of -24 for those, and -49 for my MBP.

Oh ok. Based on that I'm looking at 65 Mbps.

I'll check throughput when I get home. I can tell you that my iMac sees 24MB/s while my iPad only sees 16MB/s.

Are you referring to local wireless network speed or Internet? I typically get 16-17mbps over wireless N and 20+ from the desktop.

Most wireless g routers have a rate of 54MB/s mine is double that. Unless I get 2 fiber backhaul connections I'm not gonna touch that 108 max. We are talking about iPad to Internet right?

I have not managed to get any internet speed test to run faster then 2.4mbit on the ipad while I get 11mbit on imac and mbp.

iMac is seeing 108 mbit while iPad is seeing 39 mbit. Both are two walls and 30 feet from Airport Extreme. Thanks for having me do this. Turns out I am getting 58 mbit on my iPhone connected to the Airport Express, may as well connect my iPad to that in the bedroom and office.

Many of us are moving data around locally so it's bound by the wireless throughput.

Hmm I never knew the capitalization denoted the difference. I always thought MB/s stood for megabits a second and Mbs stood for megabytes a second. Thanks.

its the other way around actually, and the M/m doesnt really matter. B for bytes (bytes are Bigger) and b for bits (they are smaller).
