I just switched back to AT&T Business Unlimited Elite since I really like having my Watch connected via cellular. The rep assured me this time my caller ID would reflect my name and not my business name when I call landlines (remains to be seen), which is a big annoyance. I'm paying $5 more per month than with Verizon plus I lose the free Apple Music, so it ends up being $15 more. But I *hate* AT&T's individual / non-business customer support. Never, in my life, through 8/26/2020, have I dealt with a more useless bunch than AT&T's non-business (telephone) support. So I'll sacrifice HBO with the personal Elite plan in favor of network priority / lower QCI and U.S. based customer support.

I give myself until November, at which point I will kick myself for leaving Verizon and not being able to take advantage of a $400 off Pixel Black Friday deal or something!

T-Mobile (except for the recent couple of outages) has been great for me. Not just because I threw a little money into their checking account (maxes me out @ 3k to get the 4%) but also when I travel international...very rarely am I going to be charged for data...I think I ran into the problem in Ethiopia...but otherwise...everywhere it’s been great to have data even if it’s 2G...sounds so slow but I was able to have some of my classmates toggle off of my phone to FaceTime w. Family back home...versus another classmate that used Verizon‘s daily pass (rich fiancé can afford it) and even then her service was not much better and actually subpar compared to T-Mobile... another classmate had google fi.. didn’t work that great either.

i do buy sim for local number when I travel (for calls not WiFi calls) but otherwise T-Mobile works great.
not happy about the merger with sprint. they suck. Verizon is very good too but the price is too rich for my blood and they don’t have the international perk tmobile has. I’m really hoping with them taking on sprint, that this won’t downgrade the service/offerings...

For me since they merged with Sprint, my service has decreased. I had more dropped calls and service outages. I’ve been with Verizon for almost 3 weeks and have noticed the difference. I’ve had no dropped calls, and my phone worked in buildings where with T-Mobile I had no service. It’s important for me to have service as I deliver mail in an area that have bad neighborhoods which I tend to have to work in. I feel more safe that I have better coverage to make an emergency call if I have to.

ATT. Why? Things like coverage, quality of calls and pricing are pretty good. But the customer service has been outstanding. There have been a few times I had serious problems paying the bill, and after a call to ATT customer service, matters were taken care of even though I owed well over a thousand dollars. ATT is definitely the carrier to have if customer service is important to you.

I just switched my AT&T business elite plan to consumer unlimited elite using AARP FAN discount. Anyone can join apparently. My estimated bill before taxes and fees is $79 which includes my phone and Apple Watch. Business Elite was $95. You get a discount on all equipment access charges. Looks like my Watch is only $4 per month if my estimation is correct, will see on the next bill. Nice perk to also have HBO. Pretty nice price. The business plan wasn't worth the extra cost to me.

If I add my wife to the plan the additional cost is only $40, which is the same price she's been paying with Total Wireless.

I’m on an MVNO using AT&T’s network. AT&T treats their MVNOs and Prepaid brands best out of all 3 carriers imo. I’ve used Verizon’s prepaid carriers, and I got unusable data, even with full bars, decently often because of how deprioritized you are as a prepaid user. I used T-Mobile for years when I didn’t mind their coverage as much, but then congestion in my area just got too bad, had dropped calls, and I also started traveling more. When I have a service with AT&T, which is pretty much always, I always get useable data.

Just switched from Verizon to AT&T last week, Verizon has really degraded in speed and dropping calls recently in Colorado. So far AT&T has been great and cheaper.

So it appears AT&T is throttling Netflix even on the Unlimited Elite plan with stream saver disabled? I went into my account and enabled stream saver, rebooted, disabled it again, rebooted, per some post I saw about it on reddit. Didn't help. I am getting 75-100Mbps download speed in the area I tested, yet when testing speed on Fast.com get capped at 3-4Mbps.

Not only that, if I enable stream saver my speed actually goes up to 4-5Mbps.

Lastly, I think I am in between two towers or something at my apartment. When my indicator shows 5Ge my speed turns to crap even with 3 bars. When it shows LTE I get great speeds. I know that 5Ge is just marketing and is really LTE, one and the same. It makes no sense why when the indicator changes to 5Ge, data can become unusable.

I read the fine print that because I'm getting a FAN discount my video speed can be throttled. If I remove the FAN discount does this mean I won't see throttling?

Our internet goes in and out and I would like to use my phone as a reliable hotspot when needed. May end up going back to Verizon even though it'd be $15 more per month.

A few months ago I switched from AT&T to Visible (Verizon MVNO -- I think Verizon owns them now).

My bill went from ~$160/month for four lines with limited data, to $100/month for unlimited data. I was a little leary switching from a postpaid to a prepaid provider, but it has worked perfectly. Speeds aren't quite as fast when running SpeedTest, but I don't notice any difference in practice, and I think I get somewhat better coverage overall.

$25/mo/line all fees included for unlimited data on the Verizon network is a great deal IMO.

Me and my family are using a family plan from AT&T been doing so for the last couple of years (10+),
any of you using anything different?

I was on AT&T now on T-Mobile at a pretty significant discount on service with the military vet discount.

MVNOs certainly provide good deals, as long as the way their connections to the actual network don't get throttled or affected in some other fashion.

I love my T Mobile for the monthly price ($25) and it's the perfect no SIM needed international travel iPhone - but around Southern California it's decent.

But my other iPhone from work is a Verizon and it is the best everywhere in the USA and unlimited data is a great reason to use that for hotspot and downloading!
Glad I don't pay the bill on the work iPhone...

MVNOs are great until you get throttled/deprioritized. I've had a couple of occasions where Verizon postpaid was pulling in good speeds (10+ Mbps) while Visible is so deprioritized that it's useless (even Google homepage times out).

Starting in the cell phone days had AirTouch which became PacBell Wireless, then Cingular (or other way around?), then AT&T. Was with AT&T in an okay priced legacy plan which worked fine when we had the family on it.

Last year, after last offspring migrated off plan, we ported over to Mint Wireless, an MVNO which uses T-Mobile network. Been pleased with coverage--was able to use iPhone as a hot spot in the spring when cable internet went down for two days.

Paying $15 per line per month for 8GB data (prepaid for 12 months). Not using close to that data per month, but with special pricing no difference between 4GB and 8GB.

Well, VoLTE essentially allows you to have voice and data at the same time. I can do that all day on my phones, but I can't speak for anyone else specifically.

Just read that BOTH users talking must have VoLTE or connection may be poor.

VZ will only offer VoTLE service Jan 1 forward.
TMO has it now but no date set to drop non VoTLE coverage.
AT&T site says VoTLE only - starting Feb 2022.

Does T-Mobile do VoLTE with Verizon and AT&T? I have a buddy on T-Mobile and when I call him it's like we never have VoLTE connection. I never have this issue calling folks on Verizon or AT&T. I am on AT&T

Yes they do (TMO), but they still offer service for non VoTLE phones, as does AT&T.

AT&T and Verizon have HD Voice interoperability nationwide.

T-Mobile does not have HD Voice interoperability with AT&T or Verizon, so the call quality sounds extremely muffled.
T-Mobile noted it is working on it in 2016 [1] -- as quoted from the article:

"Update: T-Mobile has confirmed with me that it's working to upgrade the technology that will offer VoLTE interoperability with other carriers, and we can expect it "soon." It also said interoperable VoLTE service is partially dependent on other carriers updating their technology, as well."

AT&T - Been with them since 2007 - Cingular days.

Still have the same AT&T# - started with an Ericsson in 1992.

ref:

Prefer Ting though for best customer service. AT&T CS is a PITA. VZ & TMO are just OK CS (have all - different phones).
