I need your experience if you have either of these two NAS.
I am looking at getting a two-bay nas either Synology DS212 or Qnap TS-219 II

The DS212 is a 1.6 GHz while the TS-219 is a 2.0 GHz. I am not really sure if that will really make a difference for me. I will be accessing the NAS primarly through the Ipad for photo/video. My big scale tipper would be the software and how well interfaces to either of these. Any pet peeves or nice features you want to point out. Thanks for sharing.

I got the DS412+ which is a bigger version of the 212, and I love it, I am even running plex on it which is one of the big plus for me.
However i use to mostly for office uses and not as Media server/hub

The DS412+ is the one I've been looking at. Glad to hear it's working well for you. Time Machine backs up to it with no issues?

Most of the time, however the issues I had encountered are NOT related to the NAS but to Timemachine itself, OSx doesn't like it much when the drive is on the nextwork (works most of the time)

I have the QNAP TS-212 and have had no issues with mine. Would highly recommend it.

I mainly use it as extra storage and to stream videos to PS3 and iPad and works really well.
