I'm helping someone switch from android to iPhone, and have already realized that there is no way for them to migrate their old whatsapp messages to iOS. Fine. But in the process of setting up the new iPhone, the old android phone is still working, just not over the cell network, and since the phone number is on the iphone now, she cant access the old whatsapp messages on android anymore. Any suggestions? I know theyre still on the device, as well on googles servers in a backup, so there must be some type of solution to view them so they can be accessed? Any thoughts would be great thanks

You can only view them when you insert the SIM card in the Android phone and setup WhatsApp again.

I switched the other way and found some app that let's you download the messages to your laptop from iphone and then transfer them to your Android. I imagine it would work the other way too but not sure. Can't remember the name though but if you google around I'm sure you can find it.

drfone doesn't work, it's buggy as hell. Tried it a few weeks ago. Save your money.
