Hi guys,

I cannot see an official WhatsApp download in App Store either.

I’ve been using WhatsPad chat, as the most reviewed version.

i’ve just tried to send a picture, and can’t do it.

Looking into the settings, and it says this app is not an official whatsapp app.

Is there a better WhatsApp app for iPad?

Not really keen on doing messages etc through an unknown app, but if everyone else is using it and its only friends and family chat, what the heck ?

Probably the safest way, and the only way officially supported on the iPad (for some ridiculous reason or other) is via the what’sapp website.. you can log in and send messages etc. Obviously, you won’t receive notifications, and there maybe other caveats.

You could download a separate web browser just to use for this purpose. Would be a little like having a WhatsApp app.

I wouldn’t go with any non official versions as I wouldn’t trust them. I have no proof either way though!

Yep WhatsApp doesn’t have official app for iPad and you really do not want to use any random app for it. So many people are ignorant about how much info they put out even while chatting about unimportant stuff with their friends.

An alternative is to use Singal, and suggest your friends to move to that app. It’s more secure than WhatsApp and is not owned by the devil Facebook for a change.

There's no official whatsapp app for iPad. You can use the web version instead. Go to Safari and type in web.whatsapp.com, and scan the code with your phone.

Do not use non-official apps. It's too risky, for you and all your contacts.

The only issue with the web version is that I don’t think you get notifications.

Thanks for the info guys ?

Pretty dissapointed the apple APP store dosen't simply blocks all these "NON OFFICIAL" tag-on, steal your personal info, apps.

So much for a nice safe curated experience for apple users

Sure - no proof - but assume the worse

True.

I think there's a rumor of Whatsapp going to support more than 1 device at a time. Who knows when though.

Oh is that it! :)

They can’t block an app just like that on suspicion if the app is not violating any of their terms and conditions. I’m sure these knockoffs satisfy all the requirements to be on the AppStore. Apple is known to have banned developers permanently when they found out about shady practices. Even with companies like Facebook.

Ok, I'll take this app off my ipad

How do I:

1. Make sure the company removes my data?

2. Log my whatapp connection details off their records

3. Remove myself off their mailing lists?

Etc
etc
??

Hope you can advise

I use Signal a lot more now but if you are in Indonesia as I am at the moment you simply can't survive without WhatsApp, everyone uses it for voice calls and texting.
I simply went to the WhatsApp web site and shared the web page to the Desktop. It looks like the app icon and behaves just as well as the 3rd party apps on the app store.

The upcoming iPadOS allows for web notifications, right? Do we think that this might allow the web version of WhatsApp to do notifications?
