whatsapp back up restore problem from icloud

first i made a backup of whatsapp chat history to icloud from whatsapp messenger then to verify it i went to icloud manage storage in iphone and i can see there was back up of whatsapp chat history size 40 mb so then i restored ios from itunes and install whatsapp again then when restore window came up in whatsapp, it said back up not found in icloud so i could not restore that back up, allthough i again went to icloud manage storage in phone, and there is still whatsapp back up.
why whatsapp is not showing my backup from icloud ? wifi net is working fine.

any help or suggestion to get back my back up would be highly appreciated. what should i do now ?

hey man have the same problem. Did you figure out what to do? iCloud backups show whatsapp data.

i definitely have the same issue. i have a back up of nearly 120 mb in iCloud drive but i'm not able to have them back. Strange thing is, it can be seen in the settings->iCloud but app doesn't achieve to get it back.

any suggestions?

Whatsapp not finding icloud backup

Folks, having same problem here...big backup is showing on icloud, but Whatsapp is unable to find it when I tried to reinstall. Once it did find it, but then I had to delete Whatsapp again because reisntalling Whatsapp didnt help solve my app crashing problem.

This next time when I tried to restore Whatsapp backup, it says it couldnt find it. Its there on icloud though. I am puzzled . Any help is appreciated.

Got my backup restored!!

Figured out why my backup was not being found by Whatsapp despite it being on icloud. I wasn't connected on WIFI. Once I connected to WIFI, Whatsapp was able to find my backup and restore it ! Hope it works for you as well.

I am having the same issue! I tried by keeping the wifi on, but whatsapp can't find my backup even though i know it's there... What to do?

There are really lots of trouble (backup, crushing...) with whatsapp lately... Very upsetting. Has anyone have solution for this? Or maybe some info?

With regards to the crashing...one weird thing that works for me is if I keep my iPhone battery level at or below 17% ....for the life of me I don't know why this happens, but Whatsapp works perfectly whenever battery is below 17% and always crashes when it's higher.

Perhaps this may work for you...and who knows it may even help with finding the backup

I have exactly the same problem and wondered if a solution had been found. My backup was taken mid-2014 and I've been trying to restore recently. I see the 40Mb used up on iCloud for WhatsApp but the application can't seem to find any data to restore.

So far I've been putting it down to one of two problems.
1. I'm now using a different phone number than when my backup was taken.
2. WhatsApp is somehow different in the way that it backs up to mid-2014 - which I'm fairly certain is the case as I don't recall the ability to back up to Dropbox at that time.

So wondered if anyone had found a solution or had any suggestions? There are voice clips of someone who has recently passed hence why I'm suddenly keen to retrieve them.
