Thought I'd see if anyone else is experiencing this.
Since the last Whatsapp update, the app is "forcing" it's users to go to Settings -> Notifications -> Whatsapp and basically mandating that you enable an alert style.
If you choose not to, the app shows what is essentially a pop up, every single time you open the app and tells you that you need to go enable alerts. I have emailed support with no response and there is review after review on the app store complaining about it. A friend of mine emailed them as well and they replied back saying some nonsense about "these settings allowing for the best possible experience". Who the ******* are they to tell me how to set my notifications? (Ok I am ranting now)
Further frustration comes from the fact that two weeks ago they updated the Android app and took away the ability to adjust font size. The Android community complained so much that Whatsapp issued a fix the same day.
I guess my question is has anyone else experienced this and has anyone heard of any possible way to address this? I really do not want banners or alerts popping up on my screen for messages, especially if I am playing a game or trying to read emails. It's friggin annoying!
