"WHATSAPP" - has it stopped working?

Hey all,

Wondering if you can help / confirm my problem.

I've used a great little app called 'whatsapp' over the last couple of months however, this morning it seems to have stopped working. Those of you who use it will be familiar with its funcionality...

I upgraded to the new version and I thought this was probably the problem but it looks as if it might just be co-incedence as all of my friends are experiencing the same problems.

Push notifications still work however on loading the app the message is not recieved. If you're 'online' then the messages will come through no problem but if the app if closed it simply doesnt work anymore.

I've tried everything now, restarting phone, restarting app, turning off push and turning back on again, deleting app, reinstalling and all of the above again with no joy.

Is anybody having the same problems?

I use What'sapp all the time, however I have been suffering with issues from it today. Im keeping my eye on the developers twitter page, they are normally quite good at keeping customers updated.

there was a brief service outage earlier today. are you still having problems?

Seems it's fixed now...

just an fyi: we had a brief service outage around noon PST on saturday. everything should be back to normal by now.

Forced me to switch to Ping..

I've been using WhatsApp for months and loved it, but the last couple of weeks it has no longer been reliable enough, forced me to make the switch to Ping which is being a lot more reliable in delivering messages.

I've still kept WhatsApp around as I hope I can switch back one day.

Seems to all be working again now.

Had a couple of brief problems today, but nothing like yesterday.

All is looking good again

Hasn't been reliable for a couple of weeks now. I have tried contacting the developer(s) directly.

Not reliable for me too for a couple of weeks now. Same happened to me as the OP even up to today.
