iPhone 8/Plus Whatsapp Navigation

Hi folks,
I am new to this forum so unsure if this message lands up to right place or not.

I got two issues at the moment (I will post second into other post).
First is with Whatsapp application in iphone 8+. My mistake my mum has hit something which caused removing all of her contacts Whatsapp profile DP in main chat navigation (screen) . Usually friends (am talking about added people in contacts) are shown with their profile DPs. But suddenly she doesn't see any DP.

I have tried restarting the phone, checking Whatsapp settings that privacy is not set to (ME only types- it is EVERYONE). Given to understand (a few websites) that one can't see their contacts DPs if people have set their policy or blocked the person BUT in this case there is nothing like that. She can't see anyone in her whole Whatsapp chat (not even me so not a question of privacy).

I have checked Phone Settings > Privacy > Contacts is ON for Whatsapp.

Can you guys please suggest as this has become frustrating for her. Attached screenshot. You will find out that there are no DPs in left side.

Try backing up chat history in Watsapp and then delete WhatsApp and redownload app from store and install should bring you back to original settings

Hi thanks for your response.

I can't open Whatsapp at all, it gives optimisation error and brings back to main screen. I tried doing back up at icloud but it fails as well.

Any other response?

If you can't open the app you have no choice but to delete and reinstall.

I am sorry i missed two issues.

One was Whatsapp not opening in one of the iphones and second was this where friends profile DPs were not displayed.

Yes I did uninstall and reinstall but that hasn't helped either. Any other suggestion please?
