hi anyone know of a tweak that would allow me to customise whatsapp's alert sound beyond those listed in the app?



i know this can be done in android phones not sure what they've restricted this in the iphone.

I used the information found here a long time ago to do exactly what you're asking, haven't tested it since like iOS 5 though. It should still work.

If you're jail broken, you can use RingerX Lite found in Cydia and change almost every application's notification sound.

As far as a non-JB, not sure.
