When Apple falls short of its own advice

This thread is just to document hose aspects of Apple services/software/hardware that fall short of what Apple always claims to do.

Here are 2 things from my side

1. In iOS7 if the network is not working the Mail app will alert you to the unavailability of the server as many times as there are email accounts. Even if only 1 alert is sufficient. This is not a seamless experience

2. In Apple website, setting up a telephone support call yields an email that confirms the date/time of the meeting. However a ICS file is not prove .ICS file. You can use the data-generators (I think that's what they are called) but these will set the event to take place at Infinite loop. This is not inline with full integration

Seriously. Report bugs to Apple.

Discussing, complaining, etc. about them on a forum is useless for getting them fixed. And I assume you do want them fixed.

They are not "bugs" they are aspects that apple has not done to their "own advice". Please read the thread before these types of comments. And I agree bugs should be reported... again these are not bugs.

I read your post. Several times. They sound like bugs to me.

It makes no logical sense why it should alert the user that the network is down for every email account. It only makes sense when the network as a whole is up, but one or more more email providers is down.

Likewise for the telephone support call. I see no logical reason for having it located at 1 Infinite Loop. At best, that's a compromise or fallback because telephone calls don't have a defined location.

In both cases, there are behaviors that you seem to feel should be changed. The only way I know of to tell Apple that you think something should be changed is to file a bug-report on it.

noted. but the purpose of this thread was not to hammer out bugs, but those things that make the user experience more seamless.

I understand from your response that your expectations for seamless are higher than mine.

Whether its a bug, or a enhancement, I ask myself if we don't both agree that this is something that Apple's own developer advice tells us to avoid.
