When ATV is not around

so i am going to china this summer to study abroad and i don't want to bring my external HD and ATV, but i still want to have access to media. I want to watch live tv on my computer and hopefully connect my laptop to the TV in my hotel. I do not want slingbox just not a fan i have enough boxes. Does anyone have any suggestions on software or satilite services than can provide live US tv to me online. I Want stations like ESPN FOX HBO CNN....thanks

I'm not sure about your reservations with the slingbox, but it appears to be the best solution for you.

You can also connect your Apple TV to the slingbox pro, I believe.

Doesnt the new toast have some sort of media streaming ability? or maybe back to my mac would be an option, however i cant get it to work for me yet lol
