When burning movies with toast and i put it in my dvd player it says dvd error. Am i doing something pertaining to the settings in toast. Any movie i burn should be able to work on any dvd player. Any suggestions?? or should i use another burning software for mac??

Does the DVD play on your mac?
I'm not familiar with Toast but could it be that your burning just the files and not making a DVD? When you insert it in your mac will DVD player open, or is it possible to play the DVD with apple's DVD player, cause if not, you probably burned the file.

It could be you made an HD DVD (not likely, cause the movie wouldn't fit).
What happens when you use iDVD. Will that work?

Yes mac dvd player plays it no problem. I have neva tried imovie to burn avi files.I am not too familiar with the program. I could probably look into it and test it out. Thanx

I believe you just can import the .avi into iDVD without using iMovie. But you should get perian first to make sure QuickTime reads it proper (and therefore iDVD converts it proper)
