I'm looking to get a new MBP. I currently have a 2021 model (long story), but the ordering system won't let me trade it in. The latest year I could do that is 2020. Any ideas about when this system would be eligible for trade-in? Thanks.
It won't let you trade-in as the new MBP isn't even for sale yet.I'm looking to get a new MBP. I currently have a 2021 model (long story), but the ordering system won't let me trade it in. I’ve used ItsWorthMore.com several times and 100% agree. Stellar experience. No idea, but you might be able to try a place like itsworthmore.com. I've used them several times over the years for phones and my last two Macbook Pros. Each time they offered more than the Apple trade value and paid quickly.
Why? Don't you have a M1 Max?I'm looking to get a new MBP. I currently have a 2021 model
I just ordered a new MackBook Pro with the M1 MAX processor.
Curious, apart from the smaller screen size, wich I guess it not that different, why would you want to trade a 14 pro with an Air?I chatted Apple about this yesterday as I'm looking to trade my 2021 MBP 14 for the upcoming MBA. Rep said that once the MBA is actually for sale, there will be a trade option for the 2021. According to him, you can't trade in a 2021 until there is a 2022 model for sale, etc. - we'll see....
I likely didn't need a MBP to begin with. At the time, I was driving two external monitors (off a single Dell split screen) which took the MBA option off the table. Something happened to that ability with Monterey (and the Dell monitor) - my wife and I have the same set up and hers broke too. So, we have been good with single screen and connection the last several months.Curious, apart from the smaller screen size, wich I guess it not that different, why would you want to trade a 14 pro with an Air?
I mean you'd lose a load of money and end up with a "slower" machine.
EDIT: I am the owner of a 14 inches, so curious about the swap.
I understand, but really you are spending 200 more for what?I likely didn't need a MBP to begin with. The MBP 14 is a great machine, but I do find it a little heavy when traveling. Most of the time, it's docked and doesn't matter. But... travel is picking up for me. Smaller, lighter, and a smaller power supply is what I would like. Not thinking I'm going to lose a bunch of $ - my guess is I'll need to pay $200 above the trade to get into the comparable MBA - I want 16GB and (1) TB.
Likely more sensible to keep the MBP 14 - but the smaller size and less weight is worth it me. I doubt I'll sell privately - have had a couple of bad experiences selling laptops and phones that way. I know I get less via the trade - but much less hassle, that is also worth it it me.I understand, but really you are spending 200 more for what?
I mean at this point wouldn't it make more sense to keep the 14? You might lose less of you sold the 14 privately guess though, as there is still shortage and people might pay a little more to have it now.
Again just curiosity nothing against the change per se.
No. It's an M1 Pro. I had originally ordered an M1 Max, but changed it when I realized that was way overkill for my needs. But the problem is that the trackpad on my 16-inch MBP is enormous, and on some sites / apps, it suddenly deletes what I just typed in, and I can't recover it. I'm at the point where I can't stand this any more. I've had lots of Macs in the past, including numerous 15.4s, and have never had this problem before. So, I'm looking at the new MBA.Why?
