it is suggested to just close the monitor top?
put the computer to sleep and then close?
does it matter??

it goes to sleep automatically unless you have the power cord, display and a keyboard connected then it will turn the display off and drive the monitor

Either way. I knew somebody who decided that they always had to put their iBook to sleep and then close it, rather than just closing it. Those iBooks had lid close sensors, too!
