When did Apple's remove it's startpage?

I used to have this as my home page. I still do. But now it's a simple redirect to the main apple.com website frontpage. When was the startpage removed? Does anyone know anything about this?

It's still there, it is just no one uses it when they could have it set to a site they actually use like Google.
