I suspect that the answer to this question is widely known, but I haven't been able to find a definitive answer. When did the Mac Pro start coming with wifi? I have owned several of them (all the way back to the beginning), but they were always in an office with ethernet until I started using the 5,1 at home. Was wifi introduced all at once? Or was it initially an option? Did all 5,1 machines come with wifi?

The very first Mac Pro in 2006 supported Wi-Fi 4, but it was an optional add-on, same for the 2008 and 2009 gens. The mid-2010 refresh was the first Mac Pro with built-in Wi-Fi in the base model.

MP1,1 had wifi and bluetooth by option

MP2,1 I'm not sure but think same as MP1,1

the MP3,1 to 4,1 had wifi by option and Bluetooth built in.

Since the MP5,1 every machine had wifi.
