Are you talking about Bokeh? I think Phil said before the end of the year. Which would imply it will be part of 10.1 and thats typically out near the end of November/early December.

That would be my guess too. I'm interested in what this new feature can do. And your correct, Schiller stated at the end of the year.

Yes, software based bokeh out of the combination of the two lenses. I think it was called portrait or something in the camera when they demoed it cause its usually used when snaping someone else to get softer background but could aswell be flowers, pets, bacon.

8.1 and 9.1 both came out in October (20th and 21st). I bet we will see it earlier than late November.

It all depends on the launch of a second generation iPad Pro 12.9". Do recall, 9.1 Beta 1 came out the same exact day as the 9.0GM. That means we are already almost 2 weeks behind that.

Didn't Mark Gurman say that an update to the iPad line up was due in March? Or maybe I dreamt that, but there was no mention of them in his report for the October Mac event.

EDIT: Yep he did
The new iPad hardware will include faster display technology that allows for smoother zooming, panning and scrolling, one of the people said. Apple isn’t planning to update its iPad lineup until next year, when a new version of the iPad Pro will be released with a 10.5-inch display, up from the current 9.7-inch display, according to a recent research note by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

I think we shall see the first beta of 10.1 by the end of the month now that developers have access to the 7, with two months of testing time.
