Last time I preordered my iPhone it shipped from China, and I believe it only took 1 day to arrive, So I'm guessing they will start shipping September 20th?

Do we know who will be the shipping carrier in the US? Is it UPS or Fedex?

They will still be coming from China. Tracking will not be until close to arriving so we do not hammer the FedEx/UPS tracking site. You can bet they will be at your location the day they told you it would be. Apple is pretty good about keeping it's dates. Just relax and wait till next Friday.

It took more than a day for it to be shipped from China and arrive at your location. You can not depend much on tracking until it gets in the USA. You device will likely arrive at your local terminal the day before and remain locked up until they put them on the truck for delivery.

Generally FedEx. Even if they ship early they will be held until the 21st.
Majority of the pre-orders will be shipped via UPS. This is because most pre-orders are shipped directly from China and Apple is partnered with the UPS. However, there are some that are shipped Fedex but majority of the launch day iphones are shipped via UPS.

I should have said shipper depends on your order method. Apple might use someone other than ATT would use. Still, no matter when it ships you will get it on the day they said you would. I have not seen a miss in all the years. Even at 9PM the truck came by.

In that case, yes it depends on where you ordered your phone from and what they use. I believe AT&T and Verizon uses Fedex. Apple.com uses UPS.

I ran into a slight glitch (totally my own fault) and didn't get my pre order placed until 2:13 AM CST and got a delivery date of 9/28-10/5. I hope some miracle happens and I get it launch day but I am not very optimistic.
