Also, does the dvr-04 burn 9.4gb dvd's (the one sided version, like xbox dvd's)?
 
They need to get the size of the drive's innards down before they will be able to slip a superdrive into a TiBook/PowerBook.

no... the DVR-04 only burns Single Layer discs.

No consumer DVD-R burns dual-layer discs... Not only that, but commerical replicators don't even "burn" dual-layer discs... from my understanding, the twoo layers are combined physically... after each are created.
