When does iPad Pro in store pickup ordering begin for launch?

Typically Apple has extra stock and offers in store reservations on launch of the new iPad. Does that typically happen the same time the stores locally open for launch day or sometime sooner? I preordered an 11 but I’m thinking of getting the 12.9...
