I tend to get a lot of people asking me about my macbook pro, or my iMac. I don’t tend to talk much about them because people never stop asking.

I was driving to my friend’s house but the traffics was bad, so I decided to stop at a coffee shop and have some coffee and a muffin. I was reading a few emails while I heard the guy beside me asking his friend about his Mobil phone ringtone. I knew the song, so I downloaded it via itunes and played it for the guy. He was amazed, it might not be tat amazing to MR members but it was to him. I gave him a link where he could download itunes and he made an account as soon as he was done installing it.

The guy was excited, so I showed him front row, iphoto, transferring pics from my Mobil phone via bluetooth and last but not least photo booth. He jumped from his seat with excitement, he pleaded with me to stay, and I did. This story took about 20 mins, the guy and his friend were really excited I could see it in there face.

I gave them my email and left, a few hours later sitting in my friend’s house and playing World of Warcraft I heard the sound of an email. I was about done with my quest so I logged off and read the email. It was him, he sent me an email with his new .mac account, thanking me and he included a few pics (isight) from his brand new macbook (black). Near the end of the email he said he was installing windows so that he can play games as well.

Sorry this story is a bit long but I felt the need to share it, who could have thought that from just downloading a $0.99 song a guys bought a +$1,000 macbook and his friend got an iMac (I think, not sure which model).

Thank God that email is not along the lines of "OMG, my new $1300 laptop moos!", "Why is it so hot at its bottom? Is it because it is black?"

Nothing is worse than wasting so much effort trying to convert someone, and when they finally take the plunge the first experience is.. disappointment. Virtually guaranteed to put them off Apple forever.
