I have noticed that when I am using Apple TV to stream a movie or video, I lose the wireless capabilities with my phone and Ipad. I also have to reset my router after i quit using to get internet back on my imac. Has anyone else ran into this problem? Do I have a setting wrong somewhere?

Have you checked your router capabilities? Is it N?

Have you speedtested your broadband connection? A Netflix movie might be eating up all your available bandwidth.

Have you tried streaming a Netflix movie on your iPad and seeing if the same thing happens to your other devices?

I have a wireless G LinkSys router. I don't stream movies from Netflix, only from my iMac.
Since installing Lion on my iMac, i have to reset my router anytime any other device is using the wireless.

Bandwidth

What speed is your BB? I use my iPad, iMac and ATV at the same time without issues, but I have a 50mb connection. Anything less than 10 is going to cause you problems when streaming.

If you do have a fast connection, it might be worth considering a new router:)

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

The op clearly states he's streaming from his mac which would rule out the wan side of things.

Op your issue is your router it's unable to keep up with providing a data stream to multiple devices. You need to pick up a dual band n router really or go wired to your mac and appletv

You need to buy a decent router.

Even an AirPort Express will work better than the one you have. Ideally a AirPort Extreme and run the ATV on the 5GHz network, so it's not sharing bandwidth with the iPhone and iPad.

Speedy internet connection

I think this is because of slow internet connection. If you use high speed internet connection then you may be not faced this problem anymore .
