I was thinking about this earlier. Could it happen as we currently have MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro. Logic suggests that renaming it to simply Mac would be, err, logical.

No need for the i monicker in my opinion.

This would never happen. mac is short for Macintosh. I have a PowerBook and a Mac Pro and I call both of them "macs" I know I am not the only one that does this. It would never happen. Do you think that we will be buying Apple "Phones" and "Pods"? WTF...

I think they need to make everything more logical.

This would be my perfect Apple lineup:

DESKTOPS
iMac (iMac)
iMac Pro (Mac Pro)
iMac Air (super-small desktop without optical drive)
iMac Nano (Mac Mini)
iMac Touch (Similar to those HPs with the touchscreens)

NOTEBOOKS
MacBook (MacBook)
MacBook Pro (MacBook Pro)
MacBook Air (MacBook Air)
MacBook Nano (Netbook)
MacBook Touch (Tablet)

But unfortunately, it ain't gonna happen :(

EDIT: iMacBook sounds disgusting, please don't suggest it :p

You may of looked but haven't really seen, know what I mean?
Apple's "i" products are aimed at consumers and their "pro" products are supposed to be their professional range, thus the sudden hike on prices, technical specifications and performance. Once upon a time there was an actual 'Mac' (Macintosh)...

Why does iMacBook sound disgusting? :confused:

My sense of humour is incredibly crass, but even I don't get that one.

Sorry, it wasn't a joke. I just don't like the name.
If it were spelled as "iMac Book", that sounds better.

I dunno, I'm just picky about names :p
Whoever decided to brand my FireWire hard drive "SmileDrive" needs to be shot.

True.
I say we bring back iBook, PowerBook, and PowerMac, it's so much more consistent.

CONSUMER
iMac
iBook

PRO
PowerMac
PowerBook

iProduct = Consumer
PowerProduct = Pro
Simple.

Yeah, I preferred that one too, exp. when the iLine was white plastic and the PowerLine was aluminum.

Intel switch had to to muck everything up.
