Slim to none.
Someone asked this on a Seti forum.
If the new iMac design can handle the heat that Quad cores produce, then their is a slim possibility. The current iMac design is not capable of dispersing the heat generated from the present quad core chips. If the chips are updated to the Penryn family as some are suggesting it could happen this time round. If not it will be at MWSF or soon after.
I hope it happens because if they update the iMac range to offer a quad core then Apple will probably be moving the Mac Pro range to Dual quads across the board which would suit me down to the ground as I am in the market for a new Pro workstation.
Before people say, if i'm making do with a G4 I don't need a Mac Pro, well I buy a machine to last me as long as possible. I bought the G4 when it was top Spec, so if I'm lucky and we get possible price reductions as well, i'll be able to do the same, and start saving for another 7 years time.
