i installed a app that lets me know the temp of my macbook. i wanted to know at what temp would it be considered too hot.

About 200F. The computer should get nice and toasty inside, but the cutoff for temps for the Core 2 Duo is boiling point, then its certainly too hot. Not that you'll ever get this close, you should get to ~170F on intensive things.

idn what you are talking about
but if you see over 160F
its too hot

my SR MBP goes to 105C (221F) according to istat pro before the fans kick up while doing something like encoding video.

Applecare and the Apple Genius' said bring it back when it breaks, but i've had zero crashes so i'm just hoping my temp sensor is off.

that's when its too hot.

Oh, C2D is rated to 100. If you get above like 70 though you might want to download smcfancontrol and up your fan speeds. My MBP never gets above 65. When it gets above 60 i kick the fans up to 4000 and it cools back down.

ahh, that's insane. my MBP has never hit 80C (but came close), and the fans are at 6000rpm when gaming. it's really loud, and i can imagine it will break them pretty soon. good thing I paid that $150 for applecare.
