This seems to be a common theme buzzing around on the forums now so hopefully this thread can help clear things up?

My advice is, buy your MBP on or after the Paris Expo on the 16th.

Reasoning:

If the updated MBP's aren't released then, you have till September 30th to exchanged your MBP for a fresh new Merom (Assuming that you bought a stock MBP and are willing to pay the 10% restocking fee), if they are unveiled then.

Of course the easiest thing would be to wait until they have actually introduced the new MBP, but that isn't an option for some who need that two weeks.

I am aware that this may be a very pointless thread, but I am sure there are others who are in the same boat as me, with school starting back up I need my MBP asap...

Cheers.

Ot

Don't mean to get OT, but I just had to ask...

srobert,

Is your avitar a metal slime? :) If so... I have not seen that in like 15 years!

Haha no worries on the OT.

Can anyone sum up (besides 64-bit processing) what advantages Merom is going to have over Yonah?

[off topic] Indeed. In all it's 4 HP, 255 defense glory. Want to fight it? Don't bother, it will run away. ;) [/off topic]

More on topic, the MacRumors: Buyer's Guide says: "Don't Buy - Updates soon" The guide is law! ^_^
