How do you make it have black borders instead or that purple colour?

I know turning on private browsing does it somewhat but it wont do it when you hit 'bookmarks'.

Anyone got any ideas lemme know!

Get "Dark safari" from Cydia. Should do this.

Accentify does it. Not sure about the bookmarks issue though.

Good post OP always wondered why there weren't any dark Safari themes. Let me know if any of these tweaks worked for you?

BTW does Accentify not play well with certain devices causing the safe mode reboot? Does it work for iPhone 5?

It only does the bottom. Accentify is what the OP wants. Not sure why its putting him in safe mode. I bought it and it works fine for me.

Yeah its kinda strange why it did it for me, must be conflicting with something!

Try Emphasize, it's a free Ryan Petrich version of Accentify.

Thanks,

It didn't safe mode my phone so ima keep it although it dosen't do the top bit of safari, I can live with it ^_^

That's too bad. At least you have some of it black. You should change the package settings for accentify in Cydia so you'll be notified when its updated. Maybe there's a known conflict. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, Will do, thanks for the heads up ^_^

No kidding? For me it does both. I use the private version of Safari, and the pink bookmarks area always irked me. Emphasize fixed that right up, top and bottom. Tested it outside of private mode too and it worked just fine.

Bookmarks yes but not the regular bar where you enter an address or google search. Sorry if I confused anyone.

Ah. And I actually hadn't noticed it leaving the URL bar pink when taking it out of private mode. Must be a bug.

No its not a bug. It's intentional. It's so the user can differentiate between normal and private browsing. Unfortunately there will be no more updates to emphasize. For people that are annoyed by this, they must use accentify. I fall in this category lol.

You make sense, but that doesn't make any logical sense. If a user is jailbreaking period, let alone Emphasizing, they should kind of just know what their settings are. Kind of lame for RPetrich to code that in, IMO.

I hear what you're saying but in this case, I believe the opposite is true. It's exactly how accentify was first released too. To accomplish this tweak, they use a native iOS API. My guess is that by default it behaves this way and the developer needs to code the tweak to NOT do this. Therefore, Petrich left it alone whereas the developer of accentify went the extra mile to code it so that it'll change it all to black and not just the bottom.

That's my understanding of the tweak. I could be wrong of course. Either way, the good news is there's an option for people who want the entire safari app to be a different color.
