I am trying to make PDF file out of square pictures (.jpg files)
But when I use Preview to print to PDF, (making preset dimensions 8 x 8 to fit the square dimensions of the picture), it rotates all the pictures 90 degrees to the left. Why could this be happening and how can I stop this from happening?

While there are several possibilities for this, maybe it is easier with a different approach? Create a document in Pages with the custom paper size you want. Then place your images. Export your PDF.

I just tried Pages, and when I place the images in Pages, it is stacked on top of each other and I still have to individually adjust (stretch) the size of the images to fit the size of the paper.

Open pages. Adjust Page size. Create a square as placeholder. Duplicate the page as often as you need it. Drag&drop the pictures into the place holder/mask. Done.

i was looking for a solution where i don't have to drag and drop individual picture files, as that would take too long. I intend to do this for many sets of pictures.

Use Automator to create an application then drag selected photos onto the new application.

This is all you need:

A tried asking on your previous thread and I will ask once again, are you sure you're using the right tools for the job? Are you creating a slideshow? A magazine? Just trying to keep some images together?

I'm creating booklets.

You have to add the action to the workflow being built in the right-hand pane. After that, you can choose the specific details that configure the action.

It looks like you've never used Automator before. You might want to walk through a simple tutorial on it first, or refer to the User Guide.

Here's the online User Guide for Automator in Big Sur:

I don't know if the guide for Mojave is still available.
I found the linked one by searching for keywords: macos automator
