When Mr Freeze meet iMac... HELP!!!

i just bought my 24"iMac 2.8GHz (stock) last friday.
After like 2-3 days of normal usage, it started to freeze every now and then. I can't stand my machine to be slower than what i expect them to do, for instance, moving my mouse icon to one place to the other.

Anyone occurred the same problem as me?
Should i do a recovery?

Reinstalling OS X and starting fresh sounds like a good idea. But for all good measures run off your Hardware Test disk and check if there are any hardware problems on your computer.
