Every time I rent a movie from AppleTV, a white screen is shown on the TV while the audio of the movie is coming out of my speakers. I can fast forward, rewind, I see apple's scrubbing bar at the bottom but the movie is all white.

The only fix is to unplug the AppleTV and plug it back in.

Anyone else experience this?

Yep. Same issue, same solution. Started seeing it with Snow Leopard, can't confirm it existed prior.

I get this same problem 10-20% of the time.
Here is a slightly better solution:

Hold down the "MENU" button AND hold down the "-" button for a few seconds, this will bring up a menu where you can reset/reboot the :apple:TV.

This isn't a Snow Leopard issue. I've had this happen to me with Leopard.

My solution has always been to unplug it (while cursing Apple for the lack of a power button).

Happens to us as well. This is definitely not a Snow Leopard problem but rather a firmware problem with ATV. Mine also turns on by itself from time to time. Rather annoying
