When starting up with install cd...

after having the folder with question mark problem, what am I supposed to click on? Somebody said something about the utilities menu but im not sure what to so after that? Thanks!

Assuming you've booted from your OSX discs, find Disk Utility and repair the drive if necessary. Now, if you need to back up your data then try booting from an external drive or possibly use Target Disk Mode to access it. Assuming your drive has thoroughly been repaired, then try an Archive & Install.
