I was in the audience as Steve Jobs made the announcement that the two white iMacs sitting so innocently on the side of the stage, the machines he'd been using to show us various demos, were in fact INTEL iMacs -- WOW!! The audience was even more delighted when he then went on to introduce the first MacBook Pro machines, too. After the Keynote, we all rushed downstairs to the Exhibits area and were eager to be let in there to get our eager hands on these exciting new machines. That was quite the day....

Wow... That must have been an amazing experience...
Maybe someday it'll happen to me too.... Maybe someday.... :)

It really was! I was still relatively new to the Mac, having bought my first one (G5 rev B iMac) in October of 2005, followed by the Powerbook in late November 2005. I'd never been to San Francisco before and the whole MacWorld thing just sounded like a lot of fun, so I decided to go. It most definitely was a fun and worthwhile experience! I'll admit I was a little disconcerted at the announcement of the intel Macs so soon after I'd just bought my PPC ones, but nonetheless it was an exciting time. Loved every minute of it! Didn't get out there again in 2007 or 2008, but am hoping to do so in 2009.....
