The title is pretty self explanatory. Based on past new products that were released, how long after does Apple usually come out with one?

Also do most people prefer the 3rd party sleeves for their laptops or is the Apple one the way to go?

Apple doesn't make any sleeves for any of its portables ATM, so I doubt we will see one for the MBA. They used to make some iPod cases, but they were for the most part a joke, either low quality or very over priced. Your best bet is to find a nice 3rd party sleeve.

Because apple does not release specs before hand, it takes a bit of time to get things up and running, but we should be seeing more and more of them very shortly.

They used to make carrying bags at least. In "The Graveyard" where I do an internship we have an old rainbow Apple logo carrying bag. The zippers have Apple logos on them! It's a really nice case; basically what we see now in cases... I wonder if they'll sell it to me... That'd be kick-awesome to have...

The Graveyard is amazing. Six Performas, three beige PowerMac towers, two PowerBook 540c, Lombards (meh...), and an old DOS box that they used in accounting. Not to mention cables/parts/etc.
