Some were thinking that Flash would be coming to the iPhone with OS 3.0, but it didn't. When do you think Flash will be coming to the iPhone, do you want it to come to the iPhone and what are your thoughts? Thanks.

I think it will be in 2 years. I have no conclusions as to why. Just a guess. Theres another thread floating around. I thought it was a great read.

"HTML5 is where it's at, dawg."

Nice theory and all, but people aren't going to stop using Flash because some mobile devices can't use it. Most likely outcome is iPhone (and other device) apps for stuff like Hulu and Netflix that use different software like the YouTube app does.

I would personally not care about Flash support as long as sites have a mobile version or stuff like the above has its own app. The Ted's Montana Grill Web site is a prime example for me. It needs to have a non-flash site for people who want to find store and menu information. I can thankfully use Maps to find locations, but I'm betting a BlackBerry user might not have the same success.

I have no idea what the plan is, but I don't really care whether or not Flash makes it to the iPhone. I only occasionally watch YouTube videos. I don't think having Flash available on the iPhone will change my device usage too much.

If you ask me, I'd much rather request support for a wider range of codecs, such as WMV. That way i won't have to wait until I get to my PC in order to watch the videos friends and co-workers send me from time to time.

Flash will probably never work very good on phones so what's the point of even having it on there? By the time adobe can make it into something that doesn't suck it will be replaced by something better anyway. Have you seen what it looks like on the phones that actually have it? It's trash and runs so slow that simple youtube videos run at less than 10fps and it ends up choking up the whole system

I don't have any problems with there being no flash on the iPhone. I don't see it coming around anytime soon either. It behaves TERRIBLY on mobile phones, so what's the point.
