I am in the market of buying a iMac Pro but I do not want High Sierra on it. I would like Mojave to be preloaded on it. So when do you think it will be included as a pre-install on a new iMac Pro? i Plan to buy a 18 core, 16GB Video, 4TB SSD, 128 GB Ram, all the way. I do video work and need a faster Mac. But I tried High Sierra and its not stable enough yet. Any ideas guys when Mojave will be released? Any release dates yet?

Since yours would most likely be Built to Order, there's a good chance that it would come with Mojave if you purchase it after it releases.

I may wait to purchase until end of Sept as I heard a rumor that there may be a iMac Pro 2 coming this year in 2018. So i will wait for the conference held on Sept 11-12 this year.

You can update to Mojave for free. There is not downside from upgrading, so there is no point in waiting for it.

Obviously on release day and not a moment sooner.

That certain makes sense to me as well. It appears maybe soonest will be Sep 10-12 time frame though it could be delayed until sep 25, 2018 like high sierra was. Besides, if they do come out with iMac pro 2 then the iMac pro may get cheaper. Just a thought.

Well think about this, lets say I pulled the trigger and bought the iMac Pro fully loaded at over $13,000 plus tax. Then the Apple Event comes out on Sept 11-12 announcing they are coming out with a iMac Pro 2 and they will be dropping the price of the iMac Pro or the iMac Pro 2 could be within grasp if they don't hike the price up too high. See my point. Apple is surely not going to return it If I found that out after the fact. Any advice?

There is a 14 day period for returns after the fact. They've been known to be generous with returns/exchanges of previous year Mac models, though, for a bit longer than 14 days (pending manager approval). Case in point: people who purchased the 2017 MBPs a month or so before the 2018 MBP updates were given exchanges to the 2018 version.

If you're in dire need of the computer now, buy it. If not, wait for the newer version to come out so that you wouldn't have any regrets later on. And yes, you will have only 14 days to return the product, but relying on them to be nice enough to let you return it for the newer version after the 14 days pass is not a guarantee and I wouldn't depend on it.

Intel doesn’t currently have newer CPUs that would be appropriate for an iMac Pro. There is no chance it gets upgraded in September.
