When will the bluetooth upgrade be available for the stock Mac Pro?

I ordered my Mac Pro without bluetooth so I could get it as soon as possible since I knew I could upgrade it later. I'm wondering, however, how long later will be.
Anyone have any educated guesses as to when I'll beable to upgrade my Mac Pro and how much it will most likely cost?

From what I understand the upgrade should be availalbe soon. However, I don't think it is a user installable part. i.e. you'll have to lug your desktop all the way into the Apple Store and have them install the part there.

Whoa, bad news. Not only does it sound inconvenient, but expensive as well. If it's over a $50 upgrade I probably won't do it.

I believe the upgrade on the online store is ~$35ish. If it's too much trouble to haul that tower around a mall, a USB dongle can be had for $25 from D-LINK, Linksys, etc.

Available for $35 as in it is available now??? That's the perfect price btw. Does anyone know what the installation fee is like?

Also, just how impossible is it to get away with installing this yourself? I've built countless PC's in my life so I'm guessing (and hoping) it wouldn't be too difficult.

Some sites are reporting that apple is arranging to allow customers to bring their mac pro's into an apple store and have a genious install the BT module. Due to the high demand of the Mac Pro's at the moment, I'm not sure how soon in the future this is coming.

The upgrade on the online store is $29. I don't know what the in-the-box, on the shelf price will be, i was simply using that as a gauge. I don't believe that BT is a user-serviceable part (i could be wrong on that). That means you technically void your warranty by installing it yourself. Of course, if you're capable and competent, I imagine you could install it youself no problem. Just be aware of the warranty risks.

i had it bto'ed in mine. and looking at the part, it's fairly intricate. screws, wires, etc. it works very well though.. i have the wireless kb+mouse and a bluetooth phone... i think it's definitely worth a premium to keep it inside the box and out of a usb socket.

Yep, that's the procedure. Same routine on the G5 when it came out. Seems a bit silly, but it IS worth using the internal module. Just not enough ports on these machine to lose one to a bluetooth dongle.

Apple store says they have the same bluetooth module that comes standard with the Mac Pro at the store now for $25. Installation is $30, but they say it's not too hard to do on your own. I'm on my way there now and just thought I'd give you guys a heads up.

Also, on an interesting side note, I believe that makes the upgrade cheaper than when ordering it stock w/ bluetooth.
