When will the faulty inverters be fixed?

Just wondering if Apple will make it public knowledge that the MBP is 'fixed' as they're now aware of the problem and rectify it by using a higher quality componant?

My work has offered to buy me one and just wondered how long it would be until the ones without a whine came out?

Well, since the "whine" is common across many brands and many models, I think it's safe to say "never."

Well my MBP 2.0 started off quiet but now has the screen buzz (pi$$ poor inverter) issue - going back in the morning. The 400 MHz Ti PowerBook that I am currently using has NO NOISE. Also, our 1.25 GHz AlPB had no "inverter noise" - so why does the new MBP have it? Apple and Quanta need to sharpen their quality - power inverters and / or acoustic management are not new technology. I can push in gently on the illuminated Apple logo on the back of the screen and the vibration stops.

A new laptop is really needed now but I am going to try and wait a bit for the design / production / supplier / whatever problems to get sorted out

You can whine and pray that some top brass in Apple decides to take action, similar to what happened with the liney Powerbook HD 15"

I talked to the macbook pro "product specialist"(Not an applecare technical support person) several times this month and they have figured the inverter problem out and can repair it.

(Will it work I have no clue yet im sending it to be repaired in a few weeks)

Does that mean current MBP owners can take their MBP's in to get them fixed?

I was thinking that I was going to have to send it back, lose $300 (I bought a 1.83 standard) and buy an iMac Core Duo.
