In the Apple Store online it says they ship in 4-6 weeks. Does that mean they ship to stores in 4-6 weeks, too?

By the way, I love my iPod Nano. If anyone wants a gently used greyscale 20GB iPod, let me know. :)

Not too sure, but will the iPod Nano fit into the iPod socks? I was thinking of getting the iPod socks...but will it be too big for the iPod Nano?

The socks would be waaaay too big. The Nano is about the same volume as the Shuffle, just to give you a comparison.

take an old sock of yours, cut it up, and sew it together.

10 minute job, max.

Take old sock: 5 seconds.
Cut it up: 3 seconds.
Sew it together: two hours to get sewing machine from whatever store sells programmable ones, an hour to learn to program it, another two hours going to buy the thread I forgot.

Much more than 10 minutes. Yeah, I could sew it myself manually, but I'm a Mac user, not a Linux user.

Hmmm..... it would be interesting to see what people are using as cases for their ipod nanos until the tubes show up..... kind of like that homemade notebook thread we had awhile back.....knitted cases, silk cases...etc.

I should have checked while I was at the store, but will a nano fit in a tin of Altoids Chewing gum (not the mints, the chewing gum) ????

I think the gum one is a little too thin..

maybe a different brand of mints would be a successful case?

I'll make a scale-sized paper model and test some out. :)

Sweet. Tell me what you come up with.

For now, I'm using the little black drawstring bags that the old cases used to come in (not sure if they still come with them or not), which works ok, but its still too big and the material is really thin, so I'm worried about the headphones scratching the back up.

I just placed an order for the Tubes. I'm guessing doing that is the fastest way to get them.

Kinda weird... huh? That Apple can develop the coolest iPod yet in 9 months, but they cant have some silicon thingys made in time for their announcment.

Well, I got my white nano.

Right now, I am using an old eyeglass case to carry it and my headphones. It's the kind my eye doctor gives me when I get new glasses - the one with the hinge on the long side. So it snaps shut really good..... and it's a hard case so it's pretty well protected.

I also use the complimentary eyeglass wiping shammy and wrap it around the ipod like a little blanket...comfy...cozy.

So if you have a bunch of four eyed family members, search around the house for an eyeglass case.... :D

One of my friends went to their uni today and actually found:

- an ipod nano dock

- a frosted silicon NANO case by ezGEAR http://www.ezgear4u.com
It looks like they are actually shipping them and some stores may have them now... :D

My friend did a double take because all those shuffle skins....look awfully close to the nano size......

I waiting for them too. I believe they will be 4-5 weeks.

That's what the projection has been for 4-5 weeks. ;)

I know the Apple store in Miami had the headphone lanyard in the other day, but they sold out within a few hours (before I could get my hands on a pair).

I am using this (forgive the image sizes, this machine is light on editing software).

(Yes, it's the pouch they shipped with the 3G ipods)

iPod socks

Actually, the iPod socks fit the nano very well. A friend of mine with a nano just got them, due to the lack of carrying cases, and it actually looks pretty good in it.

Yea, i use the iPod socks for my nano too, the socks are very small, and they strech to fit the big iPods, so they just strech alittle less and fit the nano fine.
Before that I was using Saran Wrap to protect my nano. Talk about a getto solution :)
