This is a variation on the "should I upgrade thread." I have an M1Max 16" MBP. It is tempting to think about upgrading to the M3Max version. What would be more compelling is if there were a new form factor, in the way that the M1 MBP represented a new form factor (as well as new chip). When do people think there will be a new form factor (beyond the new space black color)?

I doubt they’ll change the design until they make the rumoured switch to dual-layer OLED (2025/2026). This would probably be thinner and more power efficient than the miniLED panel, giving them some flexibility to tinker with thickness/weight. Might also move on from the notch to punch hole or hidden camera by then.
