When Will Winterboard Work?

Youre on 3GS I assume. You should be a little more patient. The JB just got released.

WB is the very last thing I would ever think about putting on my JB 3GS. I got it for StatusNotifier and GriP (currently). Looking forward to Stack 3.0 (looks awesome) and when they finally get TrickerThreeG or VoIPover3G working so I can Sling. So, to you it might be worthless, to others, WinterBoard is worthless.
You can always SSH new icons to your 3GS. That's what I did. It might not give you as much options as Winterboard, and it may be more difficult/time consuming, but these new icons should hold me over until Winterboard works with the 3GS.

Real nice looking. Mind sharing what theme you are using? I also changed some icons but like some of the theme you're using. I also JB for more then WB, I personally use categories a lot because I like to organize things by the type of app and specially for SSH.
Out of curiosity, have you noticed any slowdowns (like the 3G had) since jailbreaking?
I haven't had any slow down since jailbreaking. I am running backgrounder, categories, terminal, ifile, openssh, sbs. I tried dtunes and it works but looks like the music search does not work anymore.
The only apps that I have seen issues with winter board, lockdown, and dtunes does not work with seeqpod anymore for music.
NO slowdowns at all

SAME start-up time
I have ZERO negative effects from jailbreaking.
Yes but make sure you jailbreak to RC 2 of Purple Rain b4 you try and do the winterboard updates.

i wanna to the JB for Mac. By hitting the apple icon, that dloads the proper software and once all done, go into cydia and dload the WB update. Then viola? Is it really that simple?
hopefully because i need my themes and backgrounder back ASAP

how did you do the 5 icon dock w/o winterboard? i know how to SSH and everything, i can change the icons and whatnot, but i'd like to add the 5 icon dock

Just get Redsn0w .0.8 for Mac. Start redsn0w and point it to the 3.0 restore (not custom restore) IPSW. Follow the prompts.
Only install Cydia, not ICY. Use Cydia to run Ultrasn0w.
There is a good tutorial on iClarified for all of this. Make sure you get the correct tutorial for your phone (2G, 3G, 3GS)
