I'm guessing that the line hype is overblown. I'll head over to the Apple store near me at around 2:30, and if the lines look too long I'll check the ATT and Best Buys that are near by, but I honestly think this is going to be a pretty low key event. Certainly not the mad house that some seem to be anticipating. I doubt iPads will even sell out by the time the Apple stores close on Monday.

I commute to college and my school is only about 10 minutes from the apple store so my last class ends at 11:50 so I should be there by 12ish!
If the line is already started, I'll wait.
If not, I'll grab something to eat before.

Sounds great. They do same thing for Black Friday and it works out well. You know ahead of time if you are SOL or definitely getting one.

I don't plan on waiting in line fore very long... at least that is what my boss told me! For the iPhone 4 launch.. we walked past everyone in line and went to the manager. that is customer service!
Depends on when a line starts to form. I was gonna wait till I see people start lining up, than line up. But, I may just go see a movie, that will get out around 3 and then see if there is a line than. Havn't decided yet...
On second thought I will show up before 10am and see if any line, than go over to B&N to download some apps while waiting till after noon before checking again.

The iPhone 4 launch I showed up after 8 at night and the line while still there got down too 5 people and I ended up getting one of the last ones. So I hope at the very least people who get in line befor 5 will get one, even if the line takes a long time. (though I'm sure not everyones ideal model out of 18 will be available near the end)
I live in the Sacramento area and I'm considering getting mine at Best Buy as it's close to home. My plan at this point is to pop in about 2:00 to check out the situation. I'm hoping people don't really start showing up until 4:00. I agree with one of the other posters that they don't think this will be a huge event.
I would recommend calling and checking how much they got, I checked my walmart and target and they only got a couple, but bestbuy will probably have more then them.
