Don't forget Samsung tries to get Apple with legal bullcrap as well.(No I am not an Apple fanboy). Its just competition. Besides, Apple is obviously going to release their new iPhone later this year, having the last laugh. We'll see how Samsung "responds" afterwards. :p

...right, because Apple is the only company out there who regularly sues for patent infringement.

It should also be said that, much like trademarks, they HAVE TO SUE if they want to keep their patents.

What a complete joke of a company Apple has become. It doesn't get more clear than this. They know the competition is leaving them in the dust when it comes to hardware. They know more and more people are starting look elsewhere. So what do you do when you start falling behind? You slow down your competition with litigation. 9 million pre orders got your attention more than ever didn't it Apple?

And of course Apple's blind followers will rationalize and support this pathetic attempt by Apple to hold back the competition. What a complete despicable disgrace.

Why should such a false statement be said ? In fact, spreading misinformation is something you should not do.

It's not an us vs them thing. You don't have to side with either camp at all. You can think for yourself. You can use Apple products, yet not agree with all of Apple's corporate shenanigans. You can like some of the competition's products.

Compared to the 30.5 million preorders that Apple got from Sprint alone for the iPhone? The 9 million preorders by global carriers was a crap statistic that Samsung threw out there because they knew it would be repeated out of context to be ignorantly compared to the 4.5 million preorders of the iPhone 4S by actual consumers.

Only on this forum could someone put such a twisted spin on something like this. I'll play your game. Has Sprint taken delivery of those 30 million iPhones? Are they all the iPhone 4S? How many years do they have to take delivery? Unbelievable.

You misunderstand. I was simply throwing out the 30.5 million as another random statistic for "preorders" that isn't really comparable to the other two. Just like the 9 million isn't comparable to the number of preorders that Apple announced. It's a number out of context. It's impressive for Samsung by itself, but we have nothing else to compare it to.

Why can't the SIII pre-orders be compared to the 4S pre-orders? Flagship vs flagship. We are comparing it to the number of 4S pre-orders. And in the fall we can compare the next iPhone to the SIII.

I have yet to see another device out there that performs better than my Apple devices and I have hands on daily experience with a ton of different hardware.

If you think Samsung isn't a copycat in a lot of areas you obviously don't pay much attention to their products.

Because the S3 preorders were to global carriers. The numbers for the iPhone 4S were to consumers. Apples and oranges.

Funny how that is always the case whenever the numbers don't favor Apple, isn't it?

No. It is quite objectively the case. Are you doubtful of what I said simply because of your bias? Do you not understand that there is a significant difference between preorders by carriers and preorders by consumers?

Funny how those that don't agree with it will make remarks like this.

What's funny is if it were the other way around it would be a huge plus for Apple.

So the source in the first post isn't correct. They are twisting the facts to favor Samsung? And we all know how completely objective you are. :) I understand the LTD logic. Numbers are meaningless unless they favor Apple. If Apple sells one phone it is better than if Samsung sells 100. But if Apple sold 100 it would outstanding. I think I understand.

I'd recommend a Samsung Focus 2 or the Nokia Lumia series, if you're looking for something that's better - or at least on par - than the iPhone.

Certainly not in app quantity and quality. I promote Windows Mobile phones to people that like to stare at bright colored tiles. For the rest that want to get work done I recommend a platform that actually has apps (iOS, Android)

Ummm...Apple is the one using the 9 Million pre-orders as possible damage. If that stat means nothing, then why are Apple using it in their case. So what now?

Apple needs to take their money and put it into making products better instead of paying lawyers. These lawsuits are out of hand; they are trying to sue the competition out of the country. This is just like the lawsuits against HTC to ban some phones (including the One X, Evo 4G LTE, etc.) from sale in America. Apple is so anti-competition it's ridiculous, but no worries, no judge in their right mind would actually side with Apple to ban the sales of two of its biggest competitors. Just continue to compete in the market, Apple, not in the courtroom.

The number itself isn't meaningless. I don't doubt that Samsung had 9 million preorders to carriers. It's extremely impressive. I'm sure it will be the most popular smartphone in the world with the probable exception of the iPhone.

The comparison of Samsung's preorders to global carriers to Apple's preorders to consumers is what I called an apples to oranges comparison. I think it's a crap statistic thrown out specifically to be misinterpreted.

To be fair, for people who actually like to get work done I'd recommend something with a keyboard, like a laptop.
