It's not an us vs them thing. You don't have to side with either camp at all. You can think for yourself. You can use Apple products, yet not agree with all of Apple's corporate shenanigans. You can like some of the competition's products.

You misunderstand. I was simply throwing out the 30.5 million as another random statistic for "preorders" that isn't really comparable to the other two. Just like the 9 million isn't comparable to the number of preorders that Apple announced. It's a number out of context. It's impressive for Samsung by itself, but we have nothing else to compare it to.

So the source in the first post isn't correct. They are twisting the facts to favor Samsung? And we all know how completely objective you are. I understand the LTD logic. Numbers are meaningless unless they favor Apple. If Apple sells one phone it is better than if Samsung sells 100. But if Apple sold 100 it would outstanding. I think I understand.

Certainly not in app quantity and quality. I promote Windows Mobile phones to people that like to stare at bright colored tiles. For the rest that want to get work done I recommend a platform that actually has apps (iOS, Android)

Apple needs to take their money and put it into making products better instead of paying lawyers. These lawsuits are out of hand; they are trying to sue the competition out of the country. This is just like the lawsuits against HTC to ban some phones (including the One X, Evo 4G LTE, etc.) from sale in America. Apple is so anti-competition it's ridiculous, but no worries, no judge in their right mind would actually side with Apple to ban the sales of two of its biggest competitors. Just continue to compete in the market, Apple, not in the courtroom.

The number itself isn't meaningless. I don't doubt that Samsung had 9 million preorders to carriers. It's extremely impressive. I'm sure it will be the most popular smartphone in the world with the probable exception of the iPhone.

The comparison of Samsung's preorders to global carriers to Apple's preorders to consumers is what I called an apples to oranges comparison. I think it's a crap statistic thrown out specifically to be misinterpreted.

To be fair, for people who actually like to get work done I'd recommend something with a keyboard, like a laptop.
