Whenever I type anything, Mac auto typing into Launchpad search bar

Whenever I type anything, be it in chrome, spotlight search, even this very textbook, my Mac has automatically typed it out into the launchpad search bar, and when I hit enter, an app opens up. It's getting very frustrating that everytime I go to facebook.com, facetime opens up with it. Are my keystrokes being tracked? I have uploaded an image showing this. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you

It seems that Launchpad opens any time you try to type? One possible cause is a keyboard shortcut (either one you created, or one that occurred due to a damaged plist file).

Try System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Restore Defaults (of course, this would wipe out any other shortcuts you may have created).

Tried this, but unfortunately no results
I did enter kilall dock into the terminal, and that seems to be working for now

If the problem returns, try removing the Launchpad icon from the Dock.
